How to Make Your Own Solar Cells to Easily Build Your Own Panels

By Brad Jonesley

I will begin in this short article by bringing to light some of the misconceptions about making solar cells and solar energy. Also I'll talk about the motivations that people have and their interest in solar energy. Also I will talk about the science of solar power somewhat. I to will mention what the answers to the questions that many people have and can choose from.

A bunch of people want know how that they can make their own solar cells because of the revenue that they believe they will save on their electricity. Many think that selling power back to their own local light and power company is a worthwhile goal. These ideas are certainly doable and are definitely happening all over the planet. There is still a need for an understanding of what solar energy actually is.

Solar cells are most often referred to as photovoltaic or simply PV cells. Of course photo, means light and the voltaic part, means to produce voltage. These PV cells are a part of a system that can be expanded to produce both more current and or more voltage. Generally each solar cell is able to produce about 1/2 of a volt, this way the most common configuration of cells is one that has 36 cells thereby producing 18 volts. These modules can further be configured into larger panels producing almost as much free power needed for a given purpose.

Most people who want to learn how to use solar energy often find what usually ends up being a much better solution than to try to make their own solar cells. Usually this will involve buying assembled panels because producing cells individually takes a series of exact materials manufactured to very exact specifications. It is a fact that if you do a search for the phrase "how to make solar cells" your search result will end up with a lot more science project kinds of help then aid in building solar cells.

As we mentioned many people come at their interest in solar power through a desire to make or save money. However unless they have the full knowledge and facilities of a manufacturing company this is not an option or even desirable. Most people will quickly find that what they desire can most quickly and cost effectively be accomplished by making solar panels rather than individual cells.
